If you are considering eLOUD (delivery of LSVT/LOUD by the internet into your home): Please contact LSVT GLobal at 1-520-609-5363 to begin the process.
- A LSVT Global speech clinician will interview you by phone to determine if eLOUD is a good approach for you.
- Just like in standard 'in the clinic' LSVT/LOUD, the speech clinician will ask you to get your vocal folds (voice box) check by a medical doctor to be sure that your vocal folds are healthy before you begin the treatment.
- In addition, a LSVT Global technician will advise you about what equipment you will need in your home to get started. For example, you will need a computer, connection to the internet (Broadband) and webcam set up. These products are all widely available at stores such as Best Buy, CompUSA. A LSVT Global technician will help you get your equipment set up in your home. Set-up generally takes about one hour and webcam equipment costs about $100-120US.
- At this time, insurance does not reimburse for speech treatment delivered by webcam. This is because this mode of delivery is so new. Therefore at this time, the sessions of eLOUD are private pay or 'out of pocket'.
- For additional information about the efficacy of eLOUD, see the reference below.
